Counseling Services

The decision to begin therapy is never easy and I am here to safely be your support during your life’s journey

For the past two years I have had the privilege to work within a solo practice in Frederick, Maryland. Having recently graduated from Hood College with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health has allowed me to provide counseling services to a vast population. Additionally I possess the Master of Arts degree in Thanatology (in-depth study of death, dying and bereavement) also from Hood College graduate of the 2013 class. I have had many years of volunteer experience working with adults in bereavement and life transitions, teens with psychoeducation and children working through their grief process.  I also have conducted group therapy for women confronted with the diagnosis of breast cancer, in addition to conducting and group support sessions for Pet Loss grief. I have conducted grief seminars for students at Hood and was a co-founder and facilitator for the Death Cafe® in Frederick, Maryland.   As a co-facilitator for Resident Associates at Hood, we presented signs on how to spot grief behavior in students.  Most recently I have spent time speaking with Veterans diagnosed with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) resulting in substance abuse, emotional abuse within their families, as well as many other issues, who are housed at an in-patient residential treatment center, on their journey towards a sustainable life.

I describe my counseling style as aiming to provide a safe, caring and nonjudgmental environment for people.  I believe in the core internal strength of each individual which can blossom and grow with guidance and support.  I embrace and welcome people of all ages, from all walks of life.
